SENIORS OFF TO WINNING START

The Sheffield senior team started its defence of the Yorkshire county inter-district league with a 22-14 point victory over Teeside at Phoenix. The match was in the balance after the morning foursomes with the scores poised at 6-6. Headline act in the foursomes for the home team was the partnership of Richard Bee and Jordan Perry who came through 4&3.

The singles saw the Sheffield team notch 7 wins out of the 12, securing victory. Bawtry's Danny Cowell stole the show with a convincing 6&5 result while Abbeydale's James Gregg ( pictured below)

won his match 4&2. The next match is against East Riding on June 8 at Wortley. Meanwhile the junior team take on Leeds at Hallowes on Friday May 30 which is potentially the team's toughest fixture of the season.
