WORKSOP ARE FOURSOMES WINNERS YET AGAIN

It seems that Worksop Golf Club has developed quite a liking for the first championship of the Sheffield Union’s season, the Inter-Club Foursomes Medal.

After winning this event in both 2007 and 2010, Worksop made it three wins in six years with a three shot win over Roundwood after recording an aggregate score of 289 from their two pairs in this 36 hole championship.

In third place were Sandhill on 294, followed by host club Hickleton who were one shot further back.

The Worksop pairings were models of consistency throughout the day with Louis Booth / Reece Thorlby-Coy scoring a three over par score of 145 and their team mates Drew Allison / Curtis Wilson finishing up one better with a score of 144.

To put an extra gloss on this victory, the players will be presented with the championship trophy at the Sheffield Union’s Annual Dinner and Prize Presentation in November by the current SUGC President, Trevor Slack, who is also a fellow member of Worksop Golf Club.
