Waterfront Golf Club.

A very hot and oppressive day at Waterfront produced a golf match of stark contrasts.  Very good golf was mixed with indifferent golf producing some impressive wins, but some heavy losses at the same time.

After the morning foursomes were tied at 6 point each with three sizable wins but three narrow losses everything pointed to an interesting afternoon of singles matches. After only recording five points from the first six singles matches, however, it quickly became obvious this was not going to be Sheffield’s day and when the final six matches only recorded one more win and a halved match it had to be acknowledged that we had lost to a much stronger team that played the better golf overall on the day.
