Sheffield Union of Golf Clubs

FIRST DEFEAT FOR YIDU JUNIORS

Sheffield travelled to Cookridge Hall to play Leeds Union Juniors and were defeated by 22 – 14 in a closer game than th score suggests.

The morning foursomes went to Leeds 8 – 4 with victories for Whaley/Swords 2&1 with Aldridge/Marks having a 3&2 win

The afternoon singles went to Leeds 14 – 10 again in some very close contests with the Sheffield team being beaten by some excellent putting by the Leeds team

There were victories for Jack Whaley 5/4 over Jack Wallis (3rd in the recent Boys Amateur at Woodsome Hall), Kyle Johnson Rolfe 1 up, Jack Aldridge 2 & 1 Issac Marks 4 & 3 and Aiden Silman winning 3 & 1 against the current Boys winner.

Leeds are a very strong team and were worthy winners and importantly they were excellent where it matters, on the greens.
