THREE WINS OUT OF THREE

Our YIDU Junior team beat  Teesside  24 - 12 away at Blackwell Grange GC to make it 3 wins out of 3. 

A young and inexperienced team went to the Teeside with the ambition to extend the opening winning run

The foursomes pairings were new with the exception of Luca Houlgate and Marco Cuartero and they all contested the matches well and came away with a 7 - 5 interval lead. The points were gained by Jack Wilson/Joshua Morley (4 & 3), Luca/Marco (9 & 7), Tom Broadley/Sam Fry (1up) and Freddie Parlby/Sam Fry (all square) whilst Max Whittaker/William Smith and Joshua Clayton/Jack Aldridge lost close games

In the singles the scores after nine holes were far from promising with SUGC being up in only two matches with four all square but the team has a lot of fight and team spirit and battled back brilliantly in the final nine to come out winners 17 - 7 with the overall match score 24 - 12

The singles victors were Jack Wilson (2&1),Sam Ford (2&1),Tom Broadley (5&4),Freddie Parlby (2&1), Sam Fry 2up, Joshua Morley (7&5),Marco Cuartero (4&3) and the youngest member of the team at 13 Jack Aldridge 1up with Max Whittaker getting a half. The losers were not disgraced with their opponents playing very well on the day

The Juniors have now played three and won three and go to Wortley to face Bradford in good heart
