YIDU JUNIOR 6 MAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The team came into the Championship at Headingley GC with 5 players knowingly taken by Yorkshire to represent the county in the County Finals. Even with these 5 taken we still had an excellent squad in Brandon Perry (Junior Captain), Oliver Sullivan, Jack Wilson, George Mason, Lewis Harrison, George Taylor & Reserve Tom Broadley.

The the lads played some exceptional golf in the 1st round playing golf to the highest order resulting in a 1 shot lead over York going into 2nd round.

Entering the 2nd round the lads knew that they had to be mentally strong to see the job done, armed with Jaffa cakes all of them again followed on from where they left off in the morning.  Round of the day must go to George Mason who shot a 2 under 69 in the afternoon, this and with George Taylors +3 in the very last group secured our 1st Victory since 2010 with a total 902 some 13 shots ahead of runners up East Riding.

The lads deserve a lot of praise for how they conducted themselves on the day and how well they ALL played, Tom Broadley who was the reserve on the day also played his part being visible at all times helping out and encouraging his team mates.

Four of the squad finish this year as juniors and it is very fitting for them to finish on a high.
