CHARITY DATE AT ROTHERHAM

A South Yorkshire charity is staging its first fund raising golf day at Rotherham Golf Club in May and is appealing for entries to help make the event a success.

The AM-AM competition will take place on Friday May 13, with a 12.30pm shotgun start, followed by a dinner, presentation and charity auction.

Entry for the event, supported by The Gilder Group, Allotts Chartered Accountants and Oxley & Coward Solicitors, costs £200 for a team of four.

Age UK Rotherham, that celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, is an independent charity aiming to make the lives of older people in the town as fulfilling and rewarding as possible.

Chris Rivington, its chair, said: “With golfers’ and sponsors’ support we plan to make this an annual event and as a charity serving the people of Rotherham it seems only fitting that this prestigious event should take place on home soil. Events like this means we can continue making life a little more comfortable for the older people we work so hard to serve.”

Entry forms are available at http://www.ageuk.org.uk/rotherham/activities--events/charity-golf-day-2016/or email Julie.benson@ageukrotherham.org for further details.
