HOLY SMOKE IT'S BATMAN!

Would-be golfers of all ages attended a Get Into Golf day at the Peter Cowen Golf Academy in Rotherham.

Family Fun Day was a big hit

The free event, aimed mainly at young people attracted boys, girls and their parents for an afternoon of fun and entertainment.

With an emphasis on showing that the game is enjoyable, youngsters were able to try their hand at mini-golf and Footgolf as well as experiencing tips from some of the area’s top teaching professionals including Nick Huby and Tony Tomlinson.

With Sheffield’s Danny Willett and Matthew Fitzpatrick – both coached at the academy – sharing the headlines at the European Masters in Switzerland it was great to see so many youngsters showing an interest in the game.

Peter Cowen was also on hand signing autographs, while a surprise visit from a group of comic Superheroes in the shape of Spiderman, Batman, Wolverine and Captain America, brightened up the day.
