MATTHEW FITZPATRICK 2012 BRITISH BOYS CHAMPION

He joins a long list of illustrious golfers to win this title such as European Tour and Ryder Cup stars Sergio Garcia and Jose Maria Olazabal.

Matthew dominated the final and was 9up after the morning round, having played the 18 holes in an approximate 6 under par.

It the most one sided championship win since Sandy Lyle lost in the final in 1974 at Royal Liverpool GC by a score of 10&9.

The officials and members of Hallamshire GC will undoubtedly by very proud of Matthew’s recent golfing achievement and the Sheffield Union would also like to pay tribute to him for this very high profile and well deserved victory.
