CONSISTENT NICK IS JUNIOR CHAMPION

With generous sponsorship once again being provided by Warwick Ward (machinery) Ltd of Barnsley, this event attracted a very good field of up and coming young golfers from around the SUGC area.

After finishing third the previous week in the Sheffield Open Championship at Rotherham GC where he also shot two level par rounds, Nick came out on top this time and thus follows in the footsteps of notable winners of this championship such as former Yorkshire Amateur Champions Ian Mackenzie and Tony Gelsthorpe as well as European Tour star and present day television golf commentator Mark Roe.

Nick (pictured above) finished one shot ahead of runner-up Liam Senior (Lees Hall GC pictured below) with Tee-Jay White (Rotherham GC) in third place after a round of 71 and Bradley Tomlinson (Worksop GC) a further shot back on 72.

In the Under 14 Junior Championship also held on the Doncaster GC course, Ed Turner-Bennett from Lindrick Golf Club finished as winner after a round of 83.
