STROKE PLAY RESULTS

On what seemed like the hottest day of the year our 3 stroke play competitions were held at Sitwell Park. With the exception of a number of challenging pin positions the course had been prepared to a very good standard and we were well looked after in the clubhouse, thanks to all those involved at Sitwell..

The Stroke Play Champion for 2019 and winner of the Jack Hulley Trophy was Hallamshire’s Andy Oates who beat Neil Stones of Phoenix on the first play-off hole after both had recorded a one under par 70. Third place was Stefan Priest of Hallowes with a 73

The leading 16 (available) players qualified for the first round of the Sheffield Amateur Championship at Abbeydale on the 15th September.

The 6-12 Stroke Play champion and winner of the Graham Needham Trophy was Andy Wilson from Grange park who with a 69 net beat Phil Dooley of Hillsborough 74 net with home player Andy Burgin finishing third on 75 net

The 13-18 Stroke play champion and winner of the Mike Greaves Trophy was Hillsborough’s Louis Smith who with a BB9 72 net edged out Renishaw’s David Jones. Third was Michael Yeend of Bondhay with 76 net
