DAMP START TO THE SEASON

On a day that earlier saw the PCGA Junior competition at Lindrick called off (now 16th August) a number of our club secretaries along with SUGC execs took part in our traditional season opening match at Worksop. After some patchy rain early on it started to come down in biblical proportions resulting in only 3 teams completing their rounds. The Presidents team were disqualified for an incorrectly marked card offense, and the final winners with 65pts were Charles Griffiths (Bawtry) Dave Butler (Hillsborough) and Allan Ibbotson (Crookhill Park). Following the drying out process in the bar the evening finished with an excellent meal. Well done to all taking part and our thanks to Worksop for hosting the event.
