A HANSON VICTORY FOR RICHARD

His two-round score of 143 was two ahead of Nathan Rogers, a pro attached to Wortley golf club, in tough conditions at Sitwell Park Golf Club.

The pair were the only two to equal par 71 in the morning round and Richard’s 72 (pictured above) in the afternoon bettered Nathan’s (pictured below) battling 74 as the breeze picked up and caused problems for the entire field.

Richard won the Hughes Cup as winner while Nathan collected the Lockwood Salver as the leading professional in the field.

The Sheffield Open Championship, is contested by professionals and amateurs from across the region. It has been organised by the Sheffield Union of Golf Clubs since 1949.
