LEWIS IS DISABLED OPEN CHAMP!

Lewis was the youngest competitor in the field of 55 disabled golfers and won with a stableford total of 36 points on a very difficult course in windy conditions.  The Shire is the only UK course designed by Seve Ballesteros and has water in play on many holes. Lewis proved up to the task with an even 18pts on front and back 9.

This was Lewis's first disabled golf competition and sets him up for his next challenge - a regional event of British Disabled Golf at Bondhay Golf Club on August 8th.

His win at The Shire was the second big week of the year for Lewis who became the youngest winner on a Golf Foundation Presidents Award at Wentworth GC at the PGA Championship in May. The 11 year old was presented with The Burroughs Award, which he won for overcoming his disability to excel at golf and also helping to promote the sport to other disabled youngsters.
