HISTORIC WIN FOR TAPTON PARK YOUNGSTERS

In the fortieth anniversary of this event, the Tapton team were delighted to record their first ever win in the competition, after coming through the group and semi-final stages successfully.

With four golfers in each team and the best three scores to count, the finalists ; Abbeydale, Bondhay, Renishaw Park and Tapton Park battled it out for the honour of being called the best junior club side in the Sheffield Union area.

Tapton’s three round total of 218 proved to be more than good enough on the day and their team of Brett Austin, Curtis Wilson, Oliver Hoffmeister and Zach Barraclough were delighted to be crowned 2012 champions and receive the winners’ trophy from the SUGC President, Trevor Slack.

Round of the day came from six handicap, Austin who recorded an outstanding round of 74 gross (68 net) in leading his team to victory.
