MID-AMATEUR TITLE GOES DOWN TO THE WIRE!

The competition was played in good conditions following early rainfall this morning and Shaun's scores of 73 and 71 for a total of 144 (2 over Par) were good enough to beat first round leader, Steve Brennan, who following an excellent round of 69 led after 18 holes, but Steve was unfortunate to suffer cramp in the final stages of his second round, 76, to finish just one stroke down on 145.

The course at Wheatley was in excellent condition and drew praise from all competitiors, especially considering the  recent "British Summer"

The FULL RESULT is available on the website now and pictured below is the winner, Shaun Angell (Rotherham) receiving the trophy from Stan Madden, Officer in Charge at Wheatley and newly appointed Junior Development Officer on the SUGC Executive.
