STOCKSBRIDGE JUNIORS PIPPED AT THE POST

Played at Wike Ridge Golf Club, Leeds, with the best two stableford scores of the three team members to count, the Stocksbridge youngsters failed by just one point to lift this trophy on behalf of their home club and the Sheffield Union.

Having won the SUGC Junior Team Championship at Dore and Totley Golf Club back in late May, the Stocksbridge team of Andrew Finney, Joseph Sedgwick and Jack Dale were worthy representatives of their home union.

Three consistent scores of 36 points from Andrew and Joseph and 34 points from Jack turned out to be just one point shy of the winners, Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Club, representing the Teesside Union of Golf Clubs.

Well done to Stocksbridge Golf Club and their junior team for playing so well and representing the SUGC admirably on this occasion.
