HOLES IN ONE GALORE !

Well just to prove that some golfers are able to “live the dream”, we bring you news of not just one but two holes in one that have occurred in Sheffield Union events over recent weeks.

Barclay Brown and SUGC President Trevor Slack

In the Junior Team Championship at Dore and Totley on the 27th May, 11 year old Barclay Brown from Hallamshire Golf Club was understandably “over the moon” after holing his tee shot on the 168 yards 5th hole, helping his club to finish second in the championship with an aggregate score of 105 points.

Two weeks later, Lewis Hollingworth from Tankersley Park also experienced the sweet success of a hole in one, this time on a course outside of the Sheffield Union area. He aced Wetherby Golf Club’s 180 yards 13th hole during a representative game for SUGC against the Leeds Golf Union. Sheffield went on to comfortably win the match by 24 points to 12.

Congratulations to both Barclay and Lewis on their fine achievement. We look forward to bringing you news via our website of any future holes in one achieved in Union events this season.
