SHEFFIELD JUNIORS MAKE IT A HAT-TRICK OF WINS

Following a comprehensive victory over old rivals from Leeds in their latest encounter at Renishaw Park Golf Club.

After wins in the first two matches against the Juniors from York and the East Riding, Sheffield once again hit fine form and went into lunch 7 points to 5 in the lead after the morning foursomes, having won three matches and halving another.

In the afternoon singles, the team moved up another couple of gears and swept away a talented Leeds side in the process. Wins for Ben Brewster (Bawtry GC pictured above) by 5 & 4, Guy Winstanley (Wheatley GC) 3 & 2, Liam Senior (Lees Hall GC) 3 & 2, Will Hawksworth (Abbeydale GC) 3 & 2, Nick Poppleton (Wath GC) 3 & 2, Nathan Fell (Lees Hall GC) 4 & 3, Keelan Lowe (Wheatley GC pictured below) 3 & 2, Lewis Thompson (Wath GC) 6 & 5 and Aaron Nairn (Rotherham GC) 3 & 2 along with a half from Tee-Jay White (Rotherham GC) meant that Sheffield Juniors ran out winners by the impressive overall match score of 26 points to 10.

Next up for the Sheffield youngsters is an away match against the Harrogate Golf Union Juniors at Harrogate Golf Club on the 7th June.
