UNION HONOURS MIKE GREAVES

Mike Greaves was captain of Sitwell Park Golf Club in 1993, secretary and Captain (2006) of The Society of Sheffield Golf Captains, and Union Secretary from 2001 to 2007.

Last year the Union’s executive unanimously agreed to make Mike a Vice-President, an award given in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the SUGC and last made in 1995.

Sadly Mike passed away at the beginning of this year before a presentation could be made; however, given the high regard he was held in by all, it was decided to make a posthumous award.

A presentation was made to his widow Jackie at Sitwell Park’s annual dinner dance, which was also attended by a number of Past Presidents and members of the executive.
