IGOLFSTUDIO SPONSORS THE UNION

A state-of–the-art golf teaching and fitting academy has become a major sponsor of the Sheffield Union of Clubs, the body charged with promoting the sport across South Yorkshire and beyond.

iGolfStudio, established by former Sheffield Union and Yorkshire Union captain Iain Mackenzie, will be the headline sponsor of the union’s awards’ night on November 13 and will continue its support throughout the 2016 golfing season.

The studio, situated at Sheffield Business Park, is designed to help golfers of all abilities improve their game though swing analysis, teaching, training and precision club fitting.

Iain, pictured below with his PGA professional Tom Johnson, said: “I enjoyed my time representing Sheffield and Yorkshire on the golf course and now is the time to put something back into the game I love.

“The Sheffield Union has produced some fantastic players over the years, and I hope our sponsorship will enable it to continue its good work in developing raw talent in a competitive environment.”

Daran Johnson, President of the Sheffield Union, said: “Sponsorship enables us to continue to seek out up-and-coming talent and to provide the support players need to develop their skills. We appreciate the support of iGolfStudio and our other sponsors.”

The Union’s other main sponsors include Special Steels, IFM Insurance and the Peter Cowen Golf Academy Junior Tour.

The iGolfStudio is equipped to make a valuable contribution to improving the quality of golf throughout the region, helping elite players and beginners alike.

It features the same state-of-the-art equipment as that found in the world’s top golfing academies, such as the Nike Performance Fitting Center at Archerfield Links in Scotland, endorsed by Rory McIlroy.

Its full swing suite features FlightScope X2 Elite launch monitor, V1 Branded Academy video analysis - using high frame rate USB 3 HD cameras - BodiTrak, computer technology, a projection system and lighting combined within a stunning studio design.

The putting suite employs the Quintic Ball Roll System and V1 Branded Academy video analysis to ensure all areas of the game are covered.

PGA professional Tom Johnson joins Iain at iGolfStudio and provides lessons and club fitting, although by arrangement players are able to take their own coaches.

Iain, a past Sheffield Amateur champion, represented the Sheffield Union more than 100 times and was Yorkshire champion in 1977 and 1980 and played 135 times for his county.
