In a repeat of last years result Nick pipped his fellow Wath club member Gary Fullwood by three points in the climax to the 2015 season.

First presented by the Sheffield Telegraph in 1973, the trophy is awarded to the player accumulating the most points from the union’s “majors” – The Sheffield Open, The Sheffield Amateur, The Lockwood Trophy, The Sheffield Stroke Play, the Amateur Plate - as well as points won in the Inter District Championship and the Inter District League.

The final leading totals were:

1st Nick Poppleton Wath 37points
2nd Gary Fullwood Wath 34points
3rd Tim Brind Abbeydale 33points

Gary also picked up the LOCKWOOD TROPHY with a 4 round total of 296

This trophy is awarded annually to the Amateur who returns the lowest aggregate score over the four rounds played in the Amateur Strokeplay and the Sheffield Open Championship in the same year.
