TRIO OF SILVERWARE WINNERS CELEBRATE

Wheatley, Roundwood and Silkstone were celebrating this week.

Wheatley GC had champagne corks popping in its centenary year pipped local rivals Doncaster in a hard fought Queens Jubilee charity competition played at Doncaster Town Moor on a very testing course which brought the best out of the players.

The scores were Wheatley 124, Doncaster 125, with Rotherham coming third with 127.

Meanwhile the course at Lindrick was in very good condition providing its customary tough test of golf in unseasonal wet and windy weather for the Inter Club Knock Out Foursomes and Salver finals.

Both provided close results with Roundwood beating Beauchief by a margin of two matches to one in the Knock Out. The Salver was won by Silkstone by the same score over Owston Hall.
